Join us for the 6th annual American Girl Party on Saturday, November 18 from 10am – 12pm. Children and their family members are invited to bring their favorite dolls and join us for a fun morning of games, crafts , door prizes, light refreshments, interesting items from the library’s collection, and the meeting of friends, old and new.
The theme of the party will focus on the newest American Girl: Nanea Mitchell from 1941 Hawaii. We will have Hawaiian-themed food and beverages as well as music, crafts, and games. Nanea is a Native Hawaiian girl growing up during World War II in what was then a U.S. territory.
Historical fiction, biographies, films, and other educational materials available through your library provide an entertaining approach to American history that engages young students. In addition to history, the books and materials highlight relevant social issues, provide advice on growing up, and emphasize essential themes such as family, friendship, and ethics. For more information on Youth Services programming and offerings, patrons should call the Laurens Public Library at 864-681-7323 or visit our website at www.lcpl.org.
